සිහරජ වන උරුම කපාගෙන ලංකාගම දෙනියාය පාර කැපීම යළි..? හමුදා ඩෝසර් වැඩට බසී. ජනපති - පරිසර ඇමති මේ ගැන දන්නවාද ?

ලෝක උරුම සිංහරාජ මායිමේ ඇති ලංකාගම සිට දෙණියාය දක්වා මාර්ගයක් ඉදිකිරීම මේ වන විට යුධ හමුදාව මගින් සිදු කරමින් සිටියි. යුද හමුදාව විසින් දැනට විනාශ කරමින් යන ප්‍රදේශයේ විශාල ගස් බිම හෙළමින් සිංහරාජ ප්‍රේරණ කළාපයට හා සිංහරාජ ලෝක උරුමයට අති විශාල හානියක් සිදු කරමින් විශාල යන්ත්‍ර භාවිතා කරමින් මේ වන විට මෙම මාර්ගය ඉදිකරමින් සිටියි.

යුද හමුදාව විසින් ඉදිකරන ලංකාගම දෙණියාය මාර්ගය 2013 වර්ෂයේද ඉදිකිරීමට උත්සහ ගත් මාර්ගයකි.

ඒ වන විට මෙම මාර්ගය දෙණියාය දෙසට තවදුරටත් කැපෙන විට සිංහරාජ ලොක උරුමයට දැඩි හානි පැමිණෙන නිසාවෙන් 2013 නොවැම්බර් මස මෙම මාර්ගය සකස් කිරීම ආරම්භ කරන විට පරිසර හා සොබාදහම් අධ්‍යයන මධ්‍යස්ථානය මගින් ලෝක උරුම යුනිස්කෝ කාර්යාලයට දැනුම් දීමෙන් අනතුරුව එවකට රජයට කල බලපෑම නිසා ලංකාගම සිංහරාජ මාර්ගය ඉදිකිරිම වසර අටක් පමණ අත්හිටුවා තිබුනි .

නමුත් 2020.07.30 වන දින මෙම මාර්ගය ඉදිකිරිමට අවශ්‍ය උපදෙස් ආරක්ෂක අංශ වෙත ලබාදීමෙන් අනතුරුව මාර්ග සැකසීමට අවශ්‍ය යන්ත්‍රසුත්‍ර ලංකාගම ප්‍රදේශයට ගෙනවිත් දමන ලදී .

2013 වර්ෂයේ දී ලංකාගම පිහිටි සිංහරාජ ලෝක උරුම වනාන්තරය අසලින් වැටී ඇති පාරේ සිට කිලෝමීටර් 1 පමණ යන විය වාහාන ගමන් කල හැකි මාර්ගය අවසන් වී එතනින් ඔබිබට තබුණේ අඩි පාරකිග 2013 නෙවැම්බර් මසදි එම අඩි පාර තවත් පුලුල් කරමින් කිලෝ මිටර් 02 පමණ මාර්ගයක් වනාන්තරය දෙසට කපමහින් සිටියදි එය නවතා ගැනීමට අපට හැකි විය.

නමුත් එසේ ලොක් උරුම කාර්යාලයේද විරෝධය මත නවතා දැමුණ මාර්ගය යුධ හමුදාවේ සේවකයින් යොදාගන අද වන නැවත ඉදි කරමින් ඇත. මෙම මාර්ගය නැවත ඉදි කරන්නේ කරන්නේ ලංකාවේ වැසි වනානතරවලින්ම ඉතාමත් ඉහළ පාරිසරික පද්ධතියක් හා ජෛව විවිධත්වයක් ඇති ලෝක උරුම සිංහරාජයට හා එහි ප්‍රේරණ කලාපයට හානි කරමිනි.

වතු කම්කරුවන්ගේ දිනක වැටුප රුපියල් දහස කිරීම සම්බන්ධයෙන් එදා මුලින්ම හඬ අවදි කළේ වත්මන් අගමැතිවරයා බැවින් මේ අවස්ථාවේ එය ඉතාම පහසුවෙන් ඉටු කර ගත හැකි බව වතු නිවාස හා ප්‍රජා යටිතල පහසුකම් රාජ්‍ය ඇමැති ජීවන් තොණ්ඩමාන් මහතා පැවසීය.

තමට ලැබුණු ධූරය වතු කම්කරු ජනතාවටත්, සමස්ථ ශ්‍රී ලංකා වාසී ජනතාවටත් සේවය කිරීමට යොදා ගන්නා බවද ඒ මහතා අවධාරණය කළේය.

ඒ මහතා මේ බව ප්‍රකාශ කළේ ඊයේ (14) කොල්ලුපිටියේ පිහිටි එම අමාත්‍යාංශයේ දී සුබ මොහොතින් සිය ධූරයේ රාජකාරී ආරම්භ කරමිනි. මේ අවස්ථාවට අමාත්‍යාංශ ලේකම් ඩී.පී.ජී. කුමාරසිරි, ලංකා කම්කරු කොංග්‍රසයේ භාණ්ඩාගාරික පාර්ලිමේන්තු මන්ත්‍රී මර්දපානී රාමේෂ්වරන්, උප සභාපති නීතිඥ කේ. මාරියමුත්තු, කොළඹ දිස්ත්‍රික් සංවිධායක සෙල්වසාමි තිරුකේෂ්වරම්, හිටපු පාර්ලිමේන්තු මන්ත්‍රී එස්. රාජදොරේ, සියලු උප සභාපතිවරුන්, හිටපු පළාත් සභා මන්ත්‍රීවරුන්, ප්‍රාදේශීය සභා සභාපතිවරුන්, ලංකා කම්කරු කොංග්‍රසයේ නිලධාරීන් සහ අමාත්‍යාංශ නිලධාරීන් ඇතුළු විශාල පිරිසක් සහභාගි වූහ.

නීතිඥ පවිත්‍රා වන්නිආරච්චි මහත්මිය සෞඛ්‍ය අමාත්‍යවරිය ලෙස වැඩ බාර ගත්තාය.

එම උත්සවය අමතමින් ඇය කියා සිටියේ COVID-19 පැතිරීම පාලනය කිරීම සඳහා රට ඉතා වගකීමෙන් යුතුව කටයුතු කළ බවයි.

Providing employment to 150000 graduates and low-income earners resumes

President Gotabaya Rajapaksa decides to re-commence, without delay, the programme to provide employment opportunities to 150,000 persons that was halted due to the General Election, stated the President's Media Division.

The number of unemployed graduates to be recruited is 50,000. For the remaining 100,000 jobs, candidates will be selected from families of the lowest strata of income earners in the society.

The programme to employ 50,000 graduates and 100,000 low-income earners was formulated within weeks after President Rajapaksa assuming office in November last year.

Admiral Prof. Jayanath Colombage assumed duties as Foreign Secretary

Admiral Prof. Jayanath Colombage (PhD) assumed duties as the Secretary to the Foreign Ministry today following the appointment to the position by President Gotabaya Rajapaksa.
The new Foreign Secretary Admiral Colombage was warmly received by the senior officials of the Foreign Ministry this morning, upon arrival at the Ministry.

Admiral Colombage was previously Additional Secretary to the President for Foreign Relations since December 2019.

In addition, he is presently serving as the Director General of the Institute of National Security Studies Sri Lanka.

LSSP STRONGLY OPPOSES THE MCC, ACSA AND SOFA AGREEMENTS

President Gotabhaya Rajapakse had requested the Cabinet of Ministers to submit their opinions on the Prof.Lalithasiri Gunaruwan Report on the Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC) agreement with the USA. This has now been extended for a further two weeks. Though not a Cabinet Minister, but as the leader of the Lanka Sama Samaja Party (LSSP), which is a member of the Sri Lanka Freedom Podujana Alliance (SLFPA), I wish to express the opinion of the LSSP on this controversial proposal.

The LSSP views the MCC agreement, and the two other related agreements (ACSA & SOFA), as totally opposed to the independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity of Sri Lanka and that the SLFPA Government should not sign any of them if it wishes to safeguard the real interest of Sri Lanka and its people.

The Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) had correctly opposed the MCC agreement while in the Opposition as it would divide the country and have other ill effects. Accordingly the President had appointed the Gunaruwan Committee to submit a report. In this Report the Committee has pointed out the dangers of the MCC agreement to our sovereignty and territorial integrity and that it violates our Constitution and Laws. It also mentions the fact that the American company that would be preparing the digital register of all land holdings in the North and other areas would be able to get possession of a huge extent of land for foreign exploitation. The entire profits could be sent abroad. The Gunaruwan Committee is to be congratulated for producing a factual and comprehensive document which highlights the dangers to the country.
